The following article ran in the September 19, 2000, issue of the Democrat and Chronicle and is reprinted here with permission. Victor reaches suit settlementVICTOR - Developers and landowners of a proposed 154-unit apartment complex have settled a lawsuit with the village of Victor, village attorney William Kocher said yesterday. The Village Board approved the agreement last night. Developers of the proposed Drumlins complex in the town of Victor sued earlier this year, claiming the village had reneged on a years-old agreement to provide sewer service to the area. Pioneer Development Corp. will pay a sewer hook-up fee of $1,500 for each of 21 proposed apartment buildings, fix a manhole installed on Rawson Road and pay $10,000 to the village as part of the agreement. The agreement states that village officials considered that Drumlins area residents already were receiving sewer service, and that taxpayers would bear any monetary judgment should the village lose the lawsuit.
